Reading is Fun Border

Hey Crafty Friends,

Happy Spring!!
I can't believe it is almost the end of March already?!?  I always think of March as Dr. Seuss Month so I wanted to create a Scrapbook border I could put on a page later. For this border, I used Cutie Katoodles-Clever CatCoffee & Sunshine Bear
 file from Kadoodle Bug Designs.

I wanted the border to be fun like the Dr. Seuss books, so I decided  to balance a few items on his tail and on his head. I thought it'd be cute too if it looked like he was reading a story and it went well with the title that I came up with. Then I got sparkly happy and added a few sparkly touches. : )

Below is a complete list of supplies and materials used to complete this project:
Paper Piecing.
KaDoodle Bug Files: Cutie Katoodles-Clever Cat
Cricut Cartridge: Disney Classics (Umbrella)

Cardstock from JoAnn Fabrics.
Colorbox Inks & Studio G
Stampin Up Chalks: Pink
Micron Black Ink Pen: 01

Hot Cocoa Bear Card

Hey Crafty Friends,

Happy New Year!! I hope you all had a fun Christmas and New Year's Eve with your family and friends!!
It's been so cold where I live lately, that you just want to hibernate and not go anywhere. I finally got the chance to get in my crafty space and design a super cute card. I used the weather outside as inspiration for this particular card. For this card, I used Cutie Katoodles-Winter Hot Cocoa Bear
 file from Kadoodle Bug Designs.

I wanted the card to be winter themed, so when I saw the Polar Bear with the hat and scarf I thought it would be perfect. I used a Cricut file for the Hot Chocolate Mug and sparkled it up with Wink of Stella. I wanted it to be taller with whip cream and sprinkles on top. I also added the super cute marshmallows from the Kadoodle Bug Designs file. To finish off the look I made some sparkly snowflakes using another Kadoodle Bug Designs file.

Below is a complete list of supplies and materials used to complete this project:

Hey Deer Friends,

Good Evening Everyone!! I'd like to take a moment to thank all the Veterans who have served our Country for their service!!!

Have you been crafting and making any projects lately?? The colder weather makes you want to watch a good Hallmark Christmas Movie and get crafty! Or maybe that's just me. ; ) Tonight, I want to show a birthday card I made for my nieces birthday. For this card, I used Cutie Katoodles Horse
 file from Kadoodle Bug Designs.

My niece loves horses and her favorite color is purple, so I wanted the card to include both. I had asked her over the summer what kind of birthday card she wanted and she said horse so that's why I went with that. Her Mom and Stepdad got her horseback riding lessons for her birthday and boy is she excited. Today was her first lesson and she did great.

Christmas Scrapbook Page

Hey Kadoodlers,

Good Evening, I hope you had a good week!! Did you get to see the Total Solar Eclipse on Monday?? I got to watch it in my front yard and oh it was so spectacular!! I happen to live in the town that had the longest duration of darkness. I had heard so many people talking about not taking pictures during the eclipse because it would ruin your camera so I didn't get any pics. : ( I wished I would have set it up and taken pics whenever it was dark. That diamond ring though was so beautiful!! : ) My town happens to be in the path for the next Total Solar Eclipse in 7 years, so maybe I can get some pics then.

To create this Christmas layout, I used a combination of files
Cutie Katoodles Christmas Dream Bears & Cutie Katoodles-Winter Hot Cocoa Bear from Kadoodle Bug Designs.

I have a Canon Camera and my sister thinks I'm a photographer, so a couple of Christmases ago she wanted me to take pictures of her family. She saw on Pinterest Christmas photos of some children tying up their parents with lights and putting some duck tape on their mouths. So I recreated that scene for her and she loved it. So for tonight's scrapbook layout, I created that scene with some polar bears. I wanted it to look like they had tied up their parents with lights and duck taped their hands and mouths. I also wanted a title for the top and I found this one and thought it went perfectly with what was going on in the photo.

I hope you enjoyed this Christmas layout. Come back next week for one more Scrapbook page.  : )

Hey Kadoodlers,

Good Evening, I hope you are having a fantastic weekend so far. I spent the morning going to yard sales with my Mom. We found some really good deals. : )

Yesterday, kicked off one week of Christmas in July Hallmark Movies. I just love watching all the Hallmark Christmas shows. I always look forward to seeing all the new ones in November and December.  So I figured it'd be cool to make a Christmas themed card, so we can think about cooler weather. I'm ready for it to cool down a bit!! How about you?? For this card, I used the file
Cutie Katoodles Mrs Claus Bear from Kadoodle Bug Designs.

I decided to mix some different Christmas pattern papers for this card. The red one I got in a little 6x6 stack last Black Friday. And the white one with Holly on it I got at a yard sale last summer for a nickel. I thought it fit well with her holly on the hat.

Fidget Spinner Card

Hey Kadoodlers,

Good Evening, I hope you have all had a great week!! I hope you enjoyed the design teams coffee projects throughout the week. If you haven't already stop by Kadoodle Bug Designs Website and check out all the new Coffee files. They are so Stinkin Cute!!

Tonight, I want to show you a fun Fidget Spinner Card. This new file is perfect for all those that love fidget spinners. My nephew has ADHD and he just informed me last weekend that he now has 5 fidget spinners. He truly enjoys them!! I think he gets nervous if I'm holding them though because he only lets me hold it if I'm sitting down. Haha I guess he's afraid I'll drop them. My nephew's birthday is coming up in July, so I wanted to make a birthday card that had fidget spinners. For this card, I used the new file Just Keep Spinning from Kadoodle Bug Designs.

video
The card didn't go quite like I planned it to go. Originally, I wanted the fidget spinner to spin around in a circle, but I've never made a spinner card before and it wasn't spinning like it does on the videos. I'm thinking I needed to make the inner circle smaller or something. So, I decided to leave the card like it was and just make it spin in one spot in the center of the circle. I thought my nephew would get a kick over the fact that it actually spins.

Below is a complete list of supplies and materials used to complete this project:
Paper Piecing.
KaDoodle Bug Files:  Just Keep Spinning

And crafty treasures are my favorite. Yesterday, I got a scrapbook paper rack for $20. It's got 30 slots to put all the paper in. I'm super excited about it!!! I need to do some rearranging before I can actually put it in my room though. I also got some brand new school themed washi tape and some black and white twine for 50 cents each.

Octopus Mother's Day Card

Hey Kadoodle Bug Fans,

I hope you had a fantastic day today!! : ) It was such a beautiful spring day here. I got to spend some time outside today and watched a woodpecker for a little bit. I love to go outside, especially in the springtime when it's not so hot.
So, todays project is an ocean themed Mother's Day Card.  I used a combination of two files for this project. The first file is the You are my Squishy and the second is Princess Narwhal from Kadoodle Bug Designs.

When I was a little kid, my favorite movie was The Little Mermaid. Now it would have to be Finding Nemo or Finding Dory. I just loved all the colors that they show in the ocean. I would constantly draw pictures of the ocean and make it really colorful. Dreaming of the day that I would finally get to see the ocean in person. That dream finally came true the summer of 2015. Yay!! : )
I had so much fun creating this card!! The more I worked on it, the more excited I became and couldn't wait to see the finished result. So to create this card I combined two files You are my Squishy and Princess Narwhal. I used the Princess Narwhal file for the seaweed, starfish, shells, and I'm going to say coral. I'm not sure if that was coral or not but I made it coral for my card. Then I used the You are my Squishy file to make the Momma octopus and the little girl octopus.

Below is a complete list of supplies and materials used to complete this project:
Paper Piecing
KaDoodle Bug Files:  Princess Narwhal & You are my Squishy
Cardstock:  Coordinations & Bazzill

Stampin Up: Pink Chalk
Stampin Up: Crystal Effects

Easter Coffee Card Gift Set

Good Evening KDB Fans,

I hope you are having a great week so far!! : ) This evening, I am sharing a coffee gift card holder and a coordinating card. I wanted to make something that was coffee related but with a Spring twist. I used the Bunny Cupcake file to create these items.

So, I wanted to make something that mixed Easter and coffee together. I looked through Kadoodle Bug Designs website and found the Bunny Cupcake file and thought it would be perfect. Instead of cutting the icing in purple, I cut it in brown. Then I tucked the bottom part into the coffee cup, so it looks like the Bunny wanted some coffee and jumped in and made it splash all over. I just got some Nuvo drops in this week and I wanted to play with them, so I covered the coffee area with the copper penny drops. I think it turned out super cute with the drops on there.

Below is a complete list of supplies and materials used to complete this project:

    Paper Piecing
    KaDoodle Bug Files:  Bunny Cupcake
Cut Files: Love you Latte Cartridge for the Coffee Cup and the Coffee Bean.
Cardstock:  Coordinations Grapevine, Doodlebug Designs Coffee Break, Bella Blvd Sweet Safari & Stampin Up
Colorbox Chalk Cat's Eyes Ink: Brown & Tan
Stampin Up: Mellow Moss, Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Lavender Lace, Regal Rose, So Saffron, Old Olive, Bashful Blue.
Adhesive: Atg Gun, Zig 2 way glue, foam adhesive, & red sticky tape.
Fonts: Braveheart and Comic Sans MS. Used the write feature on Cricut.
    White Gel Pen: Uniball Signo
    Micron Black ink pen: 01mm
Nuvo Drops: Copper Penny & Dandelion Yellow

I hope you enjoyed this project today and be sure to check the blog again soon to see other amazing projects from the Design Team.  I hope you have a Happy Easter!! : )

    Fox Birthday Card

    Good Evening Kadoodle Bugs,

I hope you've had a great Tuesday so far. DT Amanda here to share a birthday card I made for my Mom. Her birthday was Sunday, but we aren't celebrating until tomorrow so my Brother and Nieces can be there. I used the Girly Girl Fox and the Woodland Foxes files to create this card.

So, last week I kept struggling to figure out a birthday card to make my Mom. I've been making cards since 2011 and I always make something different. Finally, Friday night I figured out I'd make one with a Fox on it holding a cupcake. I looked through the fox files on Kadoodle Bug Designs website and I thought the one with the girl fox holding nail polish would be perfect. I just replaced the nail polish with a cupcake. I thought the Fox would look cute in the woods so, I used the Woodland Foxes file to create the tree stump and the mushrooms.

**** I want to make note of something before I start the project steps I used. For some reason my Cricut cut out pieces in different sizes. I'm not sure what happened but it did this recently on another project too. So most pieces cut out smaller than they were supposed to and a few pieces cut out at the normal size. I had cut everything out and put everything away before I saw that it wasn't the right size so I went with it. Below I'm going to give you the sizes I designed it at since I don't know the size it truly cut it at.****

To make this project I used the steps below:

    • The bases are from the Cricut Alphabet Doily # 7
    • Blue base was cut at  6.08 x 6.02
    •  Darker Purple base was cut at 5.62 x 5.57
    • Light Purple was cut at 5.63 x 5.57
    • The Purple ring was cut at 4.61 x 4.57.
    • I sliced the circle into a ring so it created a border around the fox and stump.
    • Then I got a little purple happy and sponged the background lightly with purple. And inked the blue doily circle and the ring in purple as well.
    • I inked the stump with shades of brown and embossed it in gold with a woodgrain stamp.
    • Then I stamped and embossed the Happy Birthday Sentiment on the background.
    • The grass is in Design Space under Spring Seasonal.
    • The Fox is cut at 2.2 x 3.25.
    • Then I added Nuvo drops on for the nail polish and the sprinkles on the cupcakes.

Below is a complete list of supplies and materials used to complete this project:

    Paper Piecing
KaDoodle Bug Files:  Woodland Foxes & Girly Girl Fox
Cardstock:  DCWV The Cardstock pack Brights 8 x 8  & Stampin Up
Colorbox Chalk Cat's Eyes Ink: Brown, Black, Wisteria, Fresh Green, Moss Green, Dark Peony, Rose Coral, & Rouge.
    Stampabilities Ink: Sable & Violet.
    Studio G: Blue
Adhesive: Atg Gun, Zig 2 way glue, foam adhesive, & red sticky tape.
Stamp Set: Stampin Up Woodgrain background Stamp & Sky is the Limit Birthday Sentiment.
    White Gel Pen: Uniball Signo
    Micron Black ink pen: 01mm
Embossing powders: Wow Purple Metallic & Stampin Up Gold Glory
Nuvo Drops: Crystal Drops Red Berry & Crushed Grape

I hope you enjoyed this project today and be sure to check the blog again soon to see what else the Design Team comes up with.  I hope to see you soon!

    Have a blessed week !!! : )
