Cards made with KBD Llama Party file

Happy Friday Crafters

DT Debby here to take over the blog this morning and share with you two cards I made using the new KaDoodle Bug Designs Llama Party file.

I believe, for the first time since I started making cards I didn't put a sentiment on the outside of the card.  Was kinda hard for me to do this but with the card design I thought it was better without one.

First I would like to show you the face I stamped on one of the llamas using my MISTI.  I used that green tool that has a little white tip to add ink to the eyelids of the face.

I searched google for picture of llamas to see what colors they are to help me when I was shading/adding color to these cut outs.

Here is the llama birthday card.

Close up of the party llama.

Sentiment I put on the inside.

Here's the llama friendship card.

This is the sentiment I came up with for the inside of the standing llama card.

  • KaDoodle Bug Designs Llama Party file
    • Birthday Llama shaded with Stampin Up Soft Suede & River Rock Ink and Friendship llama shaded with the River Rock Ink.
  • White Gelly Roll pen for accents.
Thanks for stopping by.

Coffee Skunk Thanks a Latte Card

Happy Wednesday Crafty Friends,

So excited that it's my morning on the KBD blog because I get to share with you a card I made with the cute KaDoodle Bug Designs Coffee Skunk file.
Which by the way is available for free for a short period of time.

Reminder KaDoodle Bug Designs is a Super Sponsor of the Coffee Loving Card Makers 2017 Summer Bloghop and there is a few more days for you to create a coffee/tea/hot cocoa related project to link up on their blog for a chance to win.

For my card I chose to use the jpg from the Coffee Skunk file so I could quickly print and cut it out instead of cutting all the pieces from the svg and putting them together.    I love that the KBD files have the jpg and svg files so you can use either one depending on what you want to do or depending on your crafty mood.  Some days when I'm creating I don't have a lot of time so I like to use jpg images to create my cards and accent them with white Gelly Roll pens.  I think they're just as cute as doing the paper piecing.

As I was designing this card I decided to create my own pattern paper using the sun from the KaDoodle Bug Designs Coffee Skunk svg file because I wanted my paper to tie into the sun on the coffee mug and the larger sun I stamped my sentiment on.   I chose to fill the sun with a gradient color of orange and yellow since I was using the print and cut feature in my Silhouette Design software.    After I got the yellow and orange how I wanted it, I reduced the sun and copied them in a row.  I group the row and copied and placed them where I wanted them.  I also made them hang over the edges of the blue rectangles so they would look like a random pattern when it was cut out.

Here is a picture of what my screen looked like and on the right is the color window and the gradient panel to show you how I used this to fill in my sun.

Here is another print shot showing you my cut lines.

Here is my completed card.
Used a couple of the coffee bean trios and a coffee bean paper piece from another coffee project to make a coffee bean bow on the upper right hand side of my card.
Used the larger sun to stamp my sentiment.

Here's a close up.
Used White and Metallic Gold Gelly Roll pens to add some accents to the printed image and sun to add some dimension.    I used the offset feature in my Silhouette Design software to cut out a shadow in yellow.
This helped him stand out against the blue.

Thanks for visiting and please come back again.

Happy Crafting!

Teacher Appreciation Card

Hey Deer Friends,

I hope you had a great week!! I spent this morning with my Mom and Sister in Law yard selling. It's always fun to go to yard sales and find treasures for cheaper prices. And crafty treasures are my favorite. Yesterday, I got a scrapbook paper rack for $20. It's got 30 slots to put all the paper in. I'm super excited about it!!! I need to do some rearranging before I can actually put it in my room though. I also got some brand new school themed washi tape and some black and white twine for 50 cents each.

Tonight, I want to show you the last Teacher Appreciation Card I made for my other nieces teacher.  I used a combination of two files from Kadoodle Bug Designs for this card: Cutie Katoodles Smarty Owl and Color Me Cute.

Like the previous card, I let my niece look through the Kadoodle Bug Designs School files. She picked out the Color Me Cute Bear with the Crayon. I wanted the card to have a little something more so I added the book and the bookworm.

Bookworm Thank You Card

Hey KDB Fans,

I hope you had a great week!! Today was my nieces last day of school.  She's sort of emotional because next year she will be going to another school district and she's only been to this school. She's got lots of friends here, so she's taking it hard. So, the other day I showed the first teacher appreciation card I made for one of my nieces teachers. Today, I'm going to show you another card for another teacher in her classroom.  Every year, I make Teacher Appreciation cards for my nieces teachers.f I used the School Day Bookworms file from Kadoodle Bug Designs to create this card.

Like the previous card, I let my niece look through the Kadoodle Bug Designs School files. This time she wanted the bookworm holding the pencil. I also switched it up and made this one a round card instead of square.

Below is a complete list of supplies and materials used to complete this project:
Paper Piecing
KaDoodle Bug Files:  School Day Bookworms.
Cricut Font & Basic Shapes Cricut Design Space: Thanks Sentiment

Bookworm Teacher Card

Hey Kadoodlers,

I hope today has been a great day for you!! Every year, I make Teacher Appreciation cards for my nieces teachers. One of my nieces finished preschool yesterday and the other finishes school on Friday. So, I have a few cards I've got to work on for the teachers, so stay tuned for more cards. I used the School Day Bookworms file from Kadoodle Bug Designs to create this card.

So I let my niece look through the Kadoodle Bug Designs School files and she wanted the worm coming out of the apple. She thought it looked cute and so did I. Instead of doing the bow at the neck, I made the bow on top of the worm so it looked like a hair bow. I really liked the sentiment too because it looked kind of like child's writing.

Below is a complete list of supplies and materials used to complete this project:
Paper Piecing
KaDoodle Bug Files:  School Day Bookworms.
Walk in my Garden Cricut Cartridge: Thanks a Bunch Sentiment
Sugar & Spice Cricut Cartridge: Thank You Card Base
Cardstock:  Core'dinations from JoAnn's and Paper Studio From Hobby Lobby
Colorbox Chalk Cat's Eyes Ink: Brown, Ice Jade, Olive, & Moss Green.
Stampibilities: Red & Grass Green
Adhesive: Atg Gun, Zig 2 way glue, red sticky tape, foam adhesive & glue pop dots.
White Gel Pen: Signo Uniball White pen
Studio G-Red Glitter glue
Red Organza Ribbon
