Happy Halloween

Happy hump day Doodle Bugs!!  Halloween is quickly approaching and I thought it would be fun to make a new door greeter for my house.  We don't get trick-or-treaters, but it's still fun to add some spooky decor to your house =)

So this project was a labor of love.  I about trashed it a couple times because I wasn't too sure it was going to turn out like I had envisioned, but overall I would say it's a keeper.  I haven't done a whole lot with texture paste but love the look it gives projects so on a mission I went.  I found it at Michael's along with some really cool Tim Holtz stencils that were 50% off.

I took a wood tombstone (also 50% off so it was only $1!) and first added a layer of gesso to seal the wood.  I then used the spiderweb stencil to add some texture paste giving it a lot of dimension.  Once it all dried, I used my Bic Mark-it markers and my eBrush to color the tombstone.  I think I may need new markers after this project lol.

I had to add the adorable Tombstone Bat as he was the starting point for this fun project.  I think he's one of the cutest little bats around!!

I made a few paper flowers to coordinate with the color scheme and added a ribbon hanger.  Now I have a fun and spooky little door hanger to adorn my front door.

Hope y'all have  wonderful week!!
